Travelling to Stockholm and back; the view from 38,000 feet (both ways), and fellow passengers at Heathrow and Arlanda (so many free models…). I’d never noticed the plane’s fuselage reflected on the engine before, a good example of the way sketching sharpens powers of observation! The second window sketch was done using a small set of highly opaque water-colours, my replacement for gouache, which always felt gritty or muddy.

Great sketches, and that first one just makes me want to go away right now, to some interesting destination. To sketch, of course, I have had too little time and energy for it this summer.

Ooh, Malaga, that’ll be hot! There’s a busy Urban Sketchers group there, well worth getting in touch with if you’re allowed special leave to join a sketchcrawl… Sorry you couldn’t make manchester. Maybe Chicago next year?!
Wasn’t too hot! We went for a sketch crawl with 30 Andalusian sketchers on the day after the workshop. I’m planning on taking the Chicago trip … working hard on my skill set .
