Back to the silvery grey light of England after a week of golden sunshine in Cordoba, Spain. I’ll scan and post the sketches over the next few weeks, including many attempts to capture the Holy Week parades (tall pointy hats, huge religious floats, big marching bands, massive crowds…). In the meantime here’s mid afternoon in the shade of the Court of Oranges, and evening sun on the minaret/bell tower of the Mezquita, the mosque/cathedral in the centre of Cordoba.

I live in Jaen, pretty near to Cordoba – your pictures are very evocative of both the Mezquita and it’s adjoining courtyard! I look forward to seeing your Semana Santa images!
Thanks Iva, I bumped into another sketcher while I was there, Alvaro Carmona who does lovely architectural drawings. He said there’s a sketching group in Cordoba, but not as active or large as the Malaga one! Ed
