Our annual UK snow panic has arrived. This is the view from the kitchen window, while the first snow was still falling. Sketching snowy landscapes is fun, with large expanses of nothing, high contrast and a pure focus on tone. Suggesting where an object is by showing its absence.

Every Day Matters #2 ‘Draw a lamp’. It was in a Naval hostel/hotel in Stockholm (Drottning Victorias Örlogshem Hotel) hence the nautical theme, with the shade made out of an imitation sea-chart. The uneven cross-hatching in the big shadow on the right didn’t turn out quite right…
