On the beach #1
Two from Tenby, where I spent some blissfully vacant days sketching in the Summer. First a range of boats beached in the North Harbour at low tide, with an inquisitive pigeon exploring the seaweed. This was drawn on location, along with the key shading … Continue reading
Beside the sea #2
Some more from Easter at Aberporth in West Wales. People and dogs on the beach observed over 30 minutes (spot the soggy wet-suit walkers); a tractor pulling a boat out of the sea after the morning lobster-pot check; and fishing from the beach … Continue reading

Beside the seaside
Some sketches from a week by the sea in Wales, with more painting than drawing in an attempt to catch the soft natural forms. First some wave-watching, a tiny fish washed up on the beach, and a solitary morning beach walker… …the … Continue reading

Beach life
People watching at the seaside this Summer. The first was drawn at beach level, with nearby families, passing promenaders, distant swimmers and surfers. The second was from a cliff path, the figures tiny and silhouetted on the sunlit beach below; … Continue reading

Wales, Waves
