Another seven selfies, in pen, pencil and brush-pen, with the usual self-portrait expressions (aloof, bored, angry, vacant, odd). All done fairly fast as it was late, and sleep beckoned… Both friends and family say there’s little resemblance to me in any of them, except maybe the first. I see a slight glimpse of an aspect of me in each one; if I could combine all the tiny elements of ‘likeness’ from them…
All the usual mark-makers and shade-fakers, about 20-30 mins each
They may not look like you, but all of the drawings look like the same guy — so that’s saying a lot! I make a lot of selfies, but they all look like different people!

Consistent is a start… You can judge their accuracy in Manchester!
I also see a different person in the mirror every day. The person who has to rise at 6 and the person who got the sleep-in live in different dimensions… 😉 I like the second one best, he seems grounded and real.
Thanks Viktoria, I think the second one looks the most ‘lived in’ (or vandalised as someone once said). I’ll try an early morning one sometime and see if there’s a difference; apparently we’re a little bit taller in the morning, but I doubt that’ll be visible in the sketch!
Number three is getting very close.
But no cigar (just a small cheroot out of shot).
