Distant urban texture

Two sketches looking West towards the Suleymaniye Mosque from the terrace of the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Once I’d drawn the key buildings I added an approximation of the city’s texture all around them (roofs, domes, chimneys, walls etc) not having the time or patience to capture the actual detail. I think this is a bit like ‘greebling’, but different.

    Very nice painting.
Thanks for the link to the Troggs video.

Thanks. (The Troggs were contemporaries of your favourites The Easybeats, sometimes appearing on the same TV shows, and their hairdos are strikingly similar!)

Hi Ed. Troggs? That does ring a bell you know… Oh! Just did a quick check – Wild Thing! How could I forget that iconic song. Thanks for reminding me Ed. 😀

  2. Quite nice work! As a fellow artist, bravo!
