Mum and Dad

gouacheMy mother and father walking up a hill ahead of me after a good lunch at the Pump Rooms in Bath. Dad is keen to point out that it is a very steep hill, and Mum wants you to know that she is wearing trousers and does not have fat legs. I drew this in about a minute while I was walking and I think this ‘multi-tasking’ helped to keep the sketch fresh.

  1. I really love this sketch Ed. Less is definitely more – something I want to apply to my fledgling sketches.

    Great walking sketch!

Thanks Tina. I’m going to try walking/drawing again as you have to focus on the key lines of movement, good practise. Literally ‘taking a line for a walk’…
